Introducing our new Sky Guide

We’re always looking for new ways to help you find the TV you want to watch, so we’re making some updates to our latest Sky+HD boxes to make your Sky Guide even easier to use.

We’ll be making the updates in phases, and the first boxes to feature the new Sky Guide will be the latest Sky+HD box (890 model) and the Sky+HD 1TB box. Read our FAQs for information on finding out which box model you have.

Here’s what you can look forward to…

A fresh look

While we’ve kept the same easy to use layout, each page will now display more channels, so you’ll have less scrolling to do to find your favourites. Plus we’ve used brighter, richer colours to bring out the best of HD. But don’t worry if you don’t have the HD Pack - you’ll still be able to enjoy the new features.

Finding your recordings more easily

We’ve added genre tabs to your planner so finding the shows you’ve recorded will be even easier. Whatever channel you’ve recorded from, your movies, kids’ shows, documentaries, entertainment and lifestyle programmes will be grouped together. The Viewed and A-Z tabs will still be there, so if you prefer to use these just scroll to the left when you’re in your planner.

New quick links in the TV Guide

Scroll across the tabs in the TV Guide and you'll see new thumbnails to help you find what you want to watch by genre. So, say you're in the mood for a movie, the Channels thumbnail shows you the movies on now,  Recordings shows the movies in your planner, and  On Demand lets you browse the movie library. Choose Rentals to see what's available in Sky Store or if you know what you want to watch, just type it into Search.

 

What you need to do

You don’t need to do anything. The update is automatic and takes place in the middle of the night, plus the update won't affect any of the programmes or series you have in your planner or have already set to record or Series Link.
