Sky Arts on the rise

13 February 2012

Sky Arts is moving. From 21 February, we’re moving Sky Arts 1 HD and Sky Arts 2 HD up our TV listings to make them even easier for you to find.

So from that date, you’ll find Sky Arts 1 HD at channel 129, up from channel 243. Sky Arts 2 HD will be at channel 130, up from channel 245.

It’s all part of our increased commitment to cultural programming. In fact, as part of our overall plan to invest £600 million in original British programming by 2014, we’ve tripled the Sky Arts budget. Last year, we commissioned over 250 hours of British-made programming for the channel, which over two million of you watch every month.

There will be plenty to see this year. Don’t miss Ron Wood, whose unusual and intimate chat show is soon to arrive for Friday nights on Sky Arts 1 HD. Also keep an eye out for BeTipul, the Hebrew-language show on which HBO psychological hit In Treatment is based. It begins 27 February. Stay tuned, too, for great returning programmes like The Book Show, plus a range of opera and classical music performances. There’s even a revamped South Bank Show, which makes its return to television this year. With so much for you to discover on Sky Arts, why not move it to the top of your viewing today?
