How to Join Sky

  • Joining Sky TV online is quick and easy. You can choose from a morning or afternoon time slot to have your Sky TV installed. On average, your equipment can be installed in only six days.

  • How do I build my Sky TV package online?

    • 1. Pick what you want

      There are two options for our TV channels, Entertainment and Entertainment Extra. Entertainment has the very best in lifestyle, comedy, drama, documentaries, sci-fi, arts and more. Entertainment Extra has all this pack plus more music, more ground-breaking documentaries and more breaking news.

    • 2. Select a box

      There are range of Sky boxes to suit your viewing pleasure. The Sky+ box allows you to pause, rewind and record your favourite TV – even whole series at the touch of a button. The Sky+HD box lets you watch and record over 50‡ HD channels. And the 1TB box gives you an enormous 740 hours of recording time.

    • 3. Add Sky Multiroom

      Sky Multiroom lets you watch Sky TV throughout your home, so everyone can enjoy their choice of entertainment in different rooms at the same time. The HD Pack now covers the whole home so you can enjoy the same HD channels as you get in your main room in another room of your house.

    Who can order Sky?

    • All you need to have Sky is to be over 18, have a bank account and your card details. And if you’re not the homeowner or landlord, make sure you have their permission.

    What do I need to get Sky?

    • Just a landline, a TV and for your Skybox to be connected to a landline. Easy.

    Can I choose when to get my Sky set up?

    • Yes, just tell us the date you’d like and whether you’d prefer an am or pm installation. Select the Sky products you’d like, let us know some of your property details and we’ll email you to confirm your installation date.

    What channels do I get with the Movies Pack?

    • Sky Movies has an enormous selection of films, old, new and everything in between. From one end of the cinematic spectrum to the other, we’ve got something for you.

    What channels do I get with the Sports Pack?

    • If you love sport, the Sports Pack is a must. It’s got live and exclusive action from a variety of sports from around the world that you won’t find anywhere else. Whatever team you support or player you follow, the Sports Pack has got it covered. And all in glorious high definition.

    What channels are available in high definition?

    • You can watch over 50‡ channels in HD, including news, sport, documentaries, arts and more. HD makes TV come alive.

  • What are the differences between the boxes?

    • We have three types of box, all designed for everyone who loves TV. The Sky+ box allows you to pause and rewind live TV, record an entire series and Remote Record from your smartphone or online. The Sky+HD box lets you watch over 50‡ HD channels, enjoy Sky Anytime and all the features of the Sky+ box as well. The Sky+HD 1TB box is the ultimate in televisual pleasure. If you like to watch your favourite TV again and again, it gives you 240 hours HD or a massive 740 hours of standard definition TV. Plus everything that the Sky+ and Sky+HD boxes offer.

    How do I receive Sky TV in more than one room?

    • Arguments over the remote are a thing of the past. Sky Multiroom lets everyone watch their favourite TV in different rooms at the same time. All you need is a Sky Multiroom subscription plus an extra Sky box for each room you want to watch Sky TV in. Your first SkyHD box is free with a new Sky Multiroom subscription, and if you want to pause, rewind and record on your extra box, you'll need to take a Sky+ or Sky+HD box.

ESPN: ESPN at no extra cost for Sky TV customers taking Sky Sports 1&2 (otherwise €12pm with Sky Sports 1 or 2 or €16pm for Sky TV customers).

Sky Multiroom: €15 pm per box. Provides same Sky TV channels as main Sky TV subscription on another box. To receive HD Pack channels on your Multiroom box you need a Sky HD box an HD Pack subscription (only one HD Pack subscription required per household).

Remote Record: Use sky.com or a compatible device. Requests require up to 30 minutes notice before start of programme.

Sky Anytime: Available to Sky TV customers with compatible box. Customers without HD Pack may only access limited content. Content depends on Sky TV/HD subscription.

Sky Box Office: Sky Box Office content costs extra. Pay per view charges apply. SBO 3D requires a 3DTV and Sky World HD subscription. Cable service may vary.

Sky Go: UK / Ireland only. Streamed via broadband/3G (charges may apply). Available on two registered compatible devices (content may vary). Some live TV programmes will be unavailable (go to - go.sky.com). iPhone (3GS or above), iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or above) require iOS 4.3 or later, and available on selected HTC and Samsung smartphones with OS2.2x or 2.3x. Sky on your Xbox 360 requires Xbox Gold Live subscription. Sky TV Customers: Live TV and on demand content available in line with your Sky TV subscription at no extra cost. Sky boxes and set-up

Sky+HD box: Existing Sky+ box households are not eligible for a discounted box unless taking the HD Pack. Existing customers must agree to new 12 month minimum term for Sky TV. One free/discounted box per household. Sky+HD box up to €149 if you are not eligible for discounted price (Sky TV subscription required). A Sky+HD box can store an average of 60 hours of HD or 185 hours of standard definition programmes. HD ready TV required. Standard set-up is free for new Sky TV customers joining online. Standard set-up for customers is €30 for a Sky+HD box taken with the HD Pack. Non-standard set-up may cost extra.

Sky+ box: Existing Sky+ box households are not eligible for a discounted box. Existing customers must agree to new 12 month minimum term for Sky TV. One free/discounted box per household. Sky+ box up to €149 if you are not eligible for discounted price (Sky TV subscription required). You will receive a Sky+HD box which has all the features of Sky+ and can store an average of 185 hours of standard definition programmes. To view free-to-air HD content you need an HD ready TV. To view Sky HD content you will also need the HD Pack (€15 a month). Standard set-up is free for new Sky TV customers joining online. Standard set-up for existing customers is €60. Non-standard set-up may cost extra.

 

Sky+HD 1TB box: €99 for Sky TV customers taking their first HD Pack (€15 pm) or existing Sky+HD customers adding Sky Multiroom (€15 per box). Existing Sky+HD customers are entitled to one €149 box, additional boxes €249. New customers are entitled to one €149 box when taking with HD pack, any additional boxes thereafter or when taking without the HD Pack are €249. Standard set-up is free for new Sky TV customers joining online. Standard set-up for existing customers is €30 when taken with the HD Pack, or €60 when taken without the HD Pack. Non-standard set-up may cost extra.

Sky HD Multiroom Box: [Only available with multiroom subscriptions]. Sky HD Multiroom Box is the SkyHD standard Digibox (No PVR functionality) which along with a Sky TV and Sky Multiroom subscription (€15 extra a month) gives your Sky TV subscription in another room. First box free for new and existing customers when taken with a new Sky Multiroom subscription and paying for set-up. Limited to one free box per household (and not available to customers who have already received a free standard box) otherwise €69. Replacement boxes are €99. Set-up is included as part of the box installation for new Sky TV customers, and €100 for existing customers. Non-standard set-up may cost extra.

 

Multiroom

Sky Multiroom: €15 per month per box. Provides same Sky TV channels as main Sky TV subscription on another box. To receive HD Pack channels on your Multiroom box you need a Sky HD box and HD Pack subscription (only one HD Pack subscription required per household).

Sky HD Multiroom Box: Only available with multiroom subscriptions. First box free for new and existing customers when taken with a new Sky Multiroom subscription. Limited to one free box per household (and not available to customers who have already received a free standard box) otherwise €69. Replacement boxes are €99. Set-up is included in the box installation for new customers and €100 for existing customers.

General

Price Freeze: Price freeze applies to your current Sky monthly subscription prices until 2013 excluding offers, call rates, administrative charges, VAT changes and if you change your package.

Subject to status. Upfront payment may be required. 12 month minimum subscriptions. Non-standard set-up may cost extra. Boxes must be connected to a fixed telephone line and prices may vary if you live in a flat. Sky+ functionality requires two satellite feeds. You must get any consents required (e.g. landlord's).
