A file photo taken on October 12, 2006 shows three-time world surfing champion Andy Irons of Hawaii riding a wave during the quarter finals of the ASP men's tour Billabong pro 2006 world surf championship in Bakio, northern Spain. Irons' father, Phil Irons, said on November 2, 2010 his son had died at the age of 32. The cause of death was not immediately known, but he withdrew from a surfing competition in Puerto Rico last weekend because of illness. Irons was found dead in a hotel room in Dallas, Texas, where he was on a layover en route to his home on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
