Picture but no sound with Sky on Xbox 360

  • If you can’t hear sound when trying to watch Sky on your Xbox 360, follow the tips below to diagnose the problem and find a quick solution.

    • Ensure the volume is turned up by pressing the vol + button on your TV remote control.

     

    • Try a different programme on Sky to see if the problem is specific to the programme you are watching. If the other programme has sound, try exiting the application and restarting the programme you were originally watching.

     

    • Insert a game into your Xbox 360 and check to see whether this has sound. If the game works as normal, there may be a problem with Sky on your Xbox 360. Check our Service Status page to see if there are any known problems with this service. If there are issues listed on this page, our engineers will be working on resolving the problem, so please try again in a few hours.

     

    • If there is no sound when trying to play a game on your Xbox 360, ensure all the cables of your TV and games console are securely inserted, then try the Xbox 360 again.

     

    • If you continue to experience sound problems with your Xbox 360, play content on your TV through a different source, such as your Sky box or a DVD player. If the problem persists, there may be a fault with your television – please contact your manufacturer or retailer for further assistance.
