Replacing the batteries in your Sky remote control

  • Your Sky remote control runs on AA batteries. When it’s time to replace them, Sky Guide gives you a warning message and a low battery symbol appears in the banner.

As soon as you have obtained new batteries, take the empty batteries out and replace both batteries at the same time. Replace the batteries within 10 minutes of removing the old ones as follows:

    1. Remove battery cover by pushing up the catch and sliding the cover away.
    2. Carefully remove the old batteries. Please don't put old batteries in the everyday household rubbish. They should be taken to a special environmentally-friendly collection point.
    3. Insert the new batteries , matching the marks + and -.
    4. Replace the back cover by sliding the top part in and making sure the catch clicks into place.
    5. If you left your remote control without charged batteries for longer than 10 minutes and it fails to work the TV, you need to reset the remote using the instructions in our help guide, Operate your TV with your Sky remote.

If your remote control is damaged or unusable, you can easily order a new one online.
