If the command light is always lit on your Sky box, look at light at the top of the remote then remove and reinsert a battery. If there is a stuck button, light will flash twice in quick succession then stay on constantly for 30 seconds. To un-stick buttons, rub a hand over buttons on remote checking for any that are stuck.
If this doesn't work you'll need to try a Power reset, to do this follow the following instructions:
1. If box has become non-responsive proceed to step 3.
2. Press
Standby. Standby light displays.
Some new boxes have an additional feature. An off mode amber light displays indicating box is on standby.
If a cordless telephone is in use, and connected to same socket as box, unplug box plug only – not the phone.
3. Switch off
power supply or
remove plug at mains socket.
4. Ensure no lights display on front panel of box.
5. Reconnect plug at mains socket if disconnected. Switch power supply back
ON at mains socket.
6. Ensure standby light displays.
Standard Sky digibox, wait 30 seconds after red light displays.
Sky+, wait 2 minutes after red light displays.
Sky+ HD wait 2 - 4 minutes after red/amber light displays.
7. Press Sky to return box to full power, green light displays.
This is usually because someone has pressed Sky on your remote and you’re in Sky mode, to change this, simply press tv on your remote to control your TV. If this doesn’t work, you may need to reset your remote control to control the TV.
This is usually because someone has pressed tv on your remote. When pressed it will mean that your Sky remote control is then able to control your TV set. To use your Sky remote with your Sky box again, simply press the Sky button.
The infrared signal from your Sky remote control signal needs to hit the front of the Sky box, so if you're sitting at an angle from the box or it's partially obscured, make sure you're directly in front of it and ensure you're pointing the remote right at the lights on the front of the panel.
