Spoilt for choice?
Some nights are
packed with great telly, so what do you do when there are three great shows on at the same
time? With Sky+ you don't have to miss out, but don't forget that your box can only receive two
broadcasts at any time. So, if you want to see them all, what do you do?
Many popular channels have a "plus one" version, showing the same content exactly one hour
later, so if three great shows are starting at 9pm, you can watch one live, record another while
you're watching, then record the third from 10pm to 11pm. If you want to watch all three in a row,
remember that you can also watch one recorded programme while you're recording another.
So here's the plan....
- Go to
http://tv.sky.com/tv-guide.
- Select the day from the options near the top of the page.
- Scroll across by dragging the listings or the scrollbar at the foot of the page with your
mouse.
- Click the listings for the shows you want to watch - a pop-up window will open with information
about the programmes.
- Click the red
Sky+ button at the top of the page to record the programme.
- Sign in using your
Sky iD username and password.
- If you've forgotten your details or not used Sky iD before, you can sign up or get reminders at
this point.
- Click the red
Record button link and shortly you'll see confirmation that your recording request
has been sent to your Sky+HD or Sky+ box.
Now close the pop-ups and repeat the steps above to send a remote record request for the second
programme you wish to record.
Don't miss the first/last five minutes of your programmes
By default, your Sky box may be set to start recording just before a programme starts, and to
continue recording for a few minutes after a programme ends. This may cause an overlap, however, if
you're recording programmes back-to-back on different channels. To make sure you don't miss the
beginning or end of any programmes, you can remove this buffer. You need to be in front of your
Sky+HD or Sky+ box to do this.
- Press
services on your Sky remote control.
- Highlight
Sky+ Setup and press
select.
- Highlight
Add time to start of recording and reduce the additional time.
- Highlight
Add time to end of recording and reduce the additional time.
- Highlight
Save new settings and press
select.
- Press
sky to return to normal viewing.
