Help with Sky Multiroom equipment

  • Find out more about what equipment you need for Sky Multiroom, whether you can take it when you move and what existing equipment you can re-use when installing it.

You can now protect all of the Sky boxes in your home by taking a Sky Warranty. Sky Protect is the only extended warranty endorsed by Sky and protects all of the Sky boxes in your home as well as your Sky dish, cabling, remote control and Sky wireless router if you have one.

More information on Sky Protect - the official Sky repair plan.

    • Do all Sky boxes work with Sky Multiroom?

Yes, you can pause and rewind live TV with Sky+ or enjoy the vibrant colours, deeper detail and amazing sound of Sky+HD around the home. You can also enjoy the full range of services on each of your Sky boxes, such as Sky Active and Sky Anytime on Sky+ and Sky+HD boxes, as each box remains connected to the same telephone line.

    • Where in the home can I install Sky Multiroom?

Sky Multiroom can be installed in up to eight rooms in your home - as long as you can connect all your Sky boxes to a power supply and the same working telephone line you can enjoy Sky wherever you want to watch.

    • Do I need to have more than one Sky dish on the outside of my house?

You only need one Sky dish, even if your Sky boxes are on different floors of your home they can all be connected to the same dish.

    • I already have satellite equipment in my home, can I link it to my Sky box with Multiroom?

If you already have satellite equipment installed at your address, then some of this equipment may be used for the installation and use of your Digital Satellite Equipment. Where any existing equipment needs to be upgraded or replaced this will be carried out as part of the installation. Unless you tell us otherwise, for example because you do not own the equipment, the installer will take away any equipment that has been replaced.

A “standard installation” assumes that no additional cabling, bracketry or other equipment is required or any works which are beyond the scope usual in a normal installation. A ‘standard’ installation further assumes that if you already have satellite equipment, you will not continue to use it and your existing cabling will be used in the connection of the Digital Satellite Equipment. If the installation of your Digital Satellite Equipment is not standard you will be charged a reasonable sum for any additional equipment or works that are required.

We will advise you about these charges before we install the Digital Satellite Equipment, which may need to be re-arranged for another time. If you already have satellite equipment and you wish to continue using it and/or have it relocated within your home, you must tell us at least 24 hours prior to the installation, and in that case a separate installation charge may be payable by you. If so, we will advise you of the amount of this charge, which must be paid before the day of installation of your Digital Satellite Equipment.

    • Can I take my Sky Multiroom setup with me when I move home?

Yes! When you call Sky to tell us that you're moving, you will be told what equipment you need to bring with you. When you move into your new home, the engineer will put your boxes in the rooms that you specify as we help you relocate your Sky installation.
