Problems with Sky box connection to telephone line

  • If you've been having problems with your telephone line since having your Sky+HD box installed, try the following procedure to resolve the problem.

    You might want to print this guide if you're not currently near your Sky equipment.

    Phone Line Procedure

    1. Switch your Sky+HD box to standby.
    2. Unplug the lead connecting your Sky+HD box at the telephone socket, but leave your telephone connected.
    3. Pick up the telephone receiver and listen for a good dial tone, to see if the problem persists with your Sky+HD box disconnected.


    If you don't hear a good dial tone, the fault may be with your telephone itself, or the connection, and you may need to contact your telephone service provider.
