What happens if I move abroad?
If you're moving outside the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands or the Republic of Ireland, we're
sorry, but you won't be able to take Sky TV with you, as Sky is only available in these
areas.
What happens if I move from the Republic of Ireland to the UK, or vice versa?
If you’re moving from the UK to the Republic of Ireland, or vice versa, you may experience some
small differences in the programmes that are available. If regional variations mean that you can’t
view a programme or channel, you should see a message on your TV screen telling you why. If you are
moving from the UK to the Republic of Ireland you can’t take Sky Talk or Broadband with you, as
these services are only available in the UK.
Travelling Abroad?
If you’re travelling abroad don’t forget that you can still record your favourite shows with our
Remote Record
facility. Recording requests can be sent from anywhere you can send texts or access the
internet. Contact your mobile phone operator for full pricing details of sending texts while
abroad.
Please be aware that your Sky box can receive recording requests and record programmes while in
standby mode, but not when it is turned off at the mains, or there is no power for another
reason.
If you turn off all your electrical appliances when you go away for a while, this will prevent
your Sky box from processing Remote Record requests.
