We recommend using a Sky engineer to install Sky TV in your new home, as our engineers will carry out the necessary safety checks and use the latest Sky approved cabling and parts. Even with a full service history we cannot guarantee the state of the dish and often find that a home move installation involves more than simply connecting the box. It takes our engineers time and professional equipment to assess the condition of a Sky system.
To remove the risk of disruption to your Sky viewing, a qualified Sky engineer can install your Sky TV. A charge will apply. This includes:
- Expert installation by a qualified Sky engineer
- A system check that confirms your equipment is in good working order and replacement cabling/parts where required
- A 90-day warranty for the installation
- An opportunity to upgrade your box and have an engineer install your new box(es)
If you are still keen to install Sky yourself, please check the following common set up complications before you start:
- If you have a different type of box to the previous owners you may not have the right sockets and cables
- Sky Multiroom requires telephone points and cabling in more than one room - if the previous owners did not have it installed this will be a bigger job
- The previous owners may have taken cabling with them that you need to complete the installation
- You may want to connect your Sky box in a different location to the previous owners
