Sky Photos help

  • Powered by Snapfish, Sky Photos allows you to keep, share and edit your photos at the touch of a button.You can upload photos straight from your digital camera or phone to your Sky Photos account and share your pictures online as well, so you don't need to fill your friends' email inboxes with huge photo attachments.

    Make the most of your efforts with customised photo albums, themed borders and nifty editing tools. You can convert your colour photos into black and white, crop images and create outstanding images that do justice to your treasured memories.

    • Register or sign in for Sky Photos

      Visit sky.com/services/photos and sign up using your Sky iD to create a Sky Photos account. You may already have used your SkyiD with other Sky products, if not you can sign up on this page. Once you've registered, you can sign into sky.com/signin/photos.

    • Create a group

      To create a group, select the account tab on the home page and scroll down to the address book. Choose edit address book followed by create a group. The new page will allow you to enter the name of the email group together with the email addresses of the contacts you want to have in the group. Save the group and you're done.

    • Sky Photos address book

      Sky Photos features an address book which lists the email addresses of the people with who you've shared photos. To add a new contact, select the account tab on the homepage and scroll down to the address book. Select edit address book then add a friend, and fill in your contact's name and email address.

    • Upload photos on a PC

      If you want to upload photos directly from your mobile phone or camera, you can use the convenient Sky Photos PictureMover application:

      • Follow the Get PictureMover link on the Sky Photos website.
      • Download your copy of the application. Open PictureMover Wizard to follow on-screen instructions.

      You can also email your mobile phone camera photos to save@mysnapfish.co.uk. When your photos have been received, you'll receive a text message with a link to the Snapfish website then you can add these to your Sky Photos account. Snapfish will hold photos for 30 days after you've sent them, so you've got that long to add them to your account before they are deleted.

      If you have digital photos on your computer already, you can transfer them to Sky Photos using QuickUpload:

      Select Upload Photos on the Sky Photos photo viewing page.

      On the next page there will be a yellow album:

      1. If you want to upload your photos to this album, type a title in the field provided.
      2. If you'd rather upload your photos to an existing album, select Choose Another Album near the bottom of the page.
      3. Select Upload to this Album.
      4. A dialogue box will appear asking if you'd like to download ActiveX Control. Select Yes and Sky Photos will install QuickUpload on your computer.
      5. If you'd rather transfer photos one at a time, select No and instead choose Use One-by-One Upload. You will then see a page where you can manually browse for the photo you want to upload. Double-clicking on it will add it to your viewing area, and after you've finished browsing you can upload the chosen photos by selecting Upload Photos.
      6. Choose S elect Photos to start transferring. When your upload has finished, a confirmation page will display all the photos that were successfully uploaded.
    • Upload photos on a Mac

      If you want to upload photos directly from your mobile phone or camera, you can use the convenient Sky Photos PictureMover application:

      5. If you want to upload your photos to this album, type a title in the field provided.
      6. If you'd rather upload your photos to an existing album, select Choose Another Album near the bottom of the page.
      7. Select Upload to this Album.
      8. Choose Select Photos button and pick photos you'd like to upload by checking the box next to each one.
      9. Select Upload Selected Photos button to start transferring. When your upload has finished, you'll see a confirmation page displaying all the photos that were successfully uploaded.
    • Share Sky Photos

      With Sky Photos you can share pictures with your friends and family.

      To invite friends to view your photos:

      1.     Select Share in the menu on the Photo Library page, then Share a Photo or Share Albums.
      2.     Choose the photos or albums you want to share, enter your recipients' email addresses.
      3.     Select Share Album/Photo Now and an email invitation will be sent to your contact.

      In this email there will be a link to Sky Photos website. When they type in their email address and choose a password, they will have their own account and will be able to see your photos.

    • Create a Group Room

      A group room is a web page where you and your friends can add and view photos and messages. To create a group room:

      1. Access your photo library and choose Create Group.
      2. Enter title and description of the new group in the fields provided, then choose a URL for the room.

      At this point you can choose to password-protect your room, so only your friends can see it.

    • Add photos to a group

      To add photos to your group:

      1. Access your photo library and select Group Rooms from the menu.
      2. Select the name of the group then Add Albums and Projects.
      3. On the next page you can choose the albums you want to add to the group.
    • Invite friends to join a group

      To send an invitation to let your friends become part of a particular group:

      1. Access the group page and select invite.
      2. Select Send Email to enter the email addresses of all the people you want to share the room with you.

      As the creator of the group room you can view the list of members at any time, remove albums and remove members. Just access the menu on the group page and follow the relevant links.
