See below for some frequently asked questions about Sky Community.

    • What is my profile?

Your profile is a way of introducing yourself to other readers, let them know your nickname and a little about yourself. You should also choose an avatar from the gallery provided. Members who earn 'trusted status' are able to upload their own image.

    • What is my watchlist?

This handy tool allows you to track and keep your favourite places on our website. All you have to do is select Add to My Watchlist and a link will be added to your watchlist which will then appear in your Persona Page.

    • How do I add a friend?

While visiting another reader's persona page, simply click Add me as a friend. Now you will have a quick link on your persona to your friend's persona.

    • How do I find a discussion?

In the search box, enter a keyword, select a category and press Search.

    • Is my blog moderated?

Blogs are moderated in the same way as comments. If someone reports one of your posts for abuse it will be reviewed by the moderators.

    • What are tags?

Tags, or keywords, are used to categorise items. By entering tags, such as 'beach,' 'holiday,' or 'family,' it will be easier for you and for other readers to discover these items. Separate your tags with commas and link multiple words with an underscore e.g. horse_racing.

    • How do I add comments?

If you want to share your opinion about something you read on our website, simply start or join a conversation by leaving your comments around our website where commenting is offered. When you come across a text box labelled Add a comment, simply enter your comment and select Submit.

    • What are blogs?

A blog is an online journal, a free and easy way to share your thoughts and build a following of readers. Each 'post' is a single entry, which can be read by the public. Blogs can be like a dialogue, as readers can post comments on your posts. You must click on "Approve Comments" before any contributions are displayed on your Sky Communities blog.

You are responsible for making sure comments don't break the house rules or Sky's terms and conditions, so don't approve anything that contains unsuitable material.

    • How do I write a blog?

      To start your blog:

      1.  Click on the Blog tab in your persona
      2.  Click on 'blog settings'
      3.  Here you can give your blog a title. You can also give it a tagline - this is a brief description of your blog.

To post to your blog once it's created:

      1. Click on the Blog tab in your persona
      2. Click 'write new post'.
      3. Here enter a post title, tags and the post text.
      4. Click 'publish' and your post will display on your blog.
    • What are messages?

Messages are the ideal place to carry on conversations with your friends and other readers. You can leave someone a message when you're viewing their persona by clicking 'Messages' and entering text. Add them as a Friend so you have an easy way to get back to the conversation.

    • Can I leave a message on my own persona?

Yes. You can join in on the conversation, too! While viewing your persona page, click on the Messages tab. Enter your message for your friends and other readers to see.

    • How do I delete a message?

There's a red button next to each message, click this and it's gone for good.
